Regatta Calendar

Where our boats are headed, and where it's worth being. Dates are checked against the organisers' own websites — if an organiser hasn't announced dates yet, we say so rather than guess.

Regatta festival

Barcolana 58

When2–11 October 2026
WhereTrieste, Italy

main race on 11 October

The largest regatta in the world: more than a thousand boats start together in the Gulf of Trieste. The race is short and open to almost everyone, which is why Olympic crews and family cruisers line up side by side. A good first start if you've never raced before.

The Bodrum Cup

When20–25 October 2026
WhereBodrum, Turkey

six days, Yalıkavak to Bodrum route

A regatta for wooden gulets and the main event on the Turkish coast. The racing side is gentler here than at offshore races, while the social side is stronger: six days of coastal passage with music and stops in the bays.

WhereMarmaris, Turkey

ARC — Atlantic Rally for Cruisers

Whenstart 22 November 2026
WhereLas Palmas, Canary Islands → Rodney Bay, St Lucia

2,700 miles to St Lucia

The main organised Atlantic crossing on the trade winds. Not a race in the sporting sense, but a fleet of over two hundred boats with a common start, communications, and support. Crew is sought for this event more often than for any other on the calendar.

Offshore race

Rolex Sydney Hobart

Whenstart 26 December 2026
WhereSydney → Hobart, Australia

628 miles across Bass Strait

One of the toughest races in the world: Bass Strait can break boats and people alike. Joining the crew without offshore experience is not an option, but watching the start from Sydney Harbour is worth doing at least once.
